Saskatraz Honey Bees

Saskatraz is a selected breeding population, not a separate honey bee species. Commercial hybrid workers reflect both the queen’s ancestry and the drones with which she mated.

What the breeding program reports

The breeder describes variation among families in wintering, hygiene and temperament, with VSH expressed in particular families. These are breeding-program observations, not a guarantee for every queen or location.

Ask about the actual family, mating history and local performance. Keep monitoring mites and intervene when needed.

Traits vary with breeding, mating, local conditions and management. A stock name does not guarantee temperament, winter survival or freedom from Varroa. Check breeder records and monitor your own colonies.
