Sugar-roll recovery depends on technique and conditions. It estimates mites on sampled adult bees, not the complete colony population. Keep the queen out of the sample, record the number of bees and use regional, seasonal action thresholds. The sheet’s star rating is an editorial opinion, not a measured validation score.
