Safety is specific to the product, method, dose, colony and conditions. Honey-super use and temperature restrictions must be checked on the actual registered product label. Heat research does not establish one universally safe temperature-and-duration combination for occupied hives. Kablau’s work reports a trade-off between mite mortality and brood or drone effects as exposure increases.
